Murdock Elementary School was an elementary school located in San Jose, California that closed up in 1980 due to low enrollment. Its location is now occupied by Murdock-Portal Elementary School, commonly referred to as "Portal". Portal has not shut down, but now has a reputation for technology. The school's lottery is now filled with incoming students, owned by Principal Julie Ales.
In the time between 1980 and the occupation of Murdock-Portal Elementary School, the site has been used for several purposes, including the former location of Sunnymont Parent Co-op Nursery School.
